The iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max and foldable iPhone Duo all use USB-C and support 25W MagSafe and Qi2 charging, but the Pro models reach 50% faster when charged by cable.
This guide covers the iPhone 18 series announced by Apple - iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max - together with the separate foldable iPhone Duo. All three use USB-C for charging, DisplayPort and USB 3 data transfer up to 10Gb/s. They also support magnetic wireless charging through MagSafe and Qi2 at up to 25W. The main charging difference is time: the iPhone 18 Pro models can reach about 50% in 15 minutes by cable, while the larger dual-battery iPhone Duo takes around 20 minutes.
These options make it easy to build one everyday kit around a wall adapter, charging cable and portable USB-C power bank. The important point is that the cable, adapter and charging protocol must all support the intended speed; a high wattage printed on only one component does not guarantee Apple's fastest result.

Each model includes a one-meter USB-C Charge Cable, but no wall adapter. The supplied cable is suitable for charging, including the fast-charge setups Apple describes. You do not need a special foldable-phone cable for iPhone Duo or a cable marketed only for the Pro models.
All three USB-C ports support USB 3 data transfer up to 10Gb/s, but the connector shape alone does not guarantee that speed. A charge cable may supply enough power while transferring files more slowly. If you regularly move ProRes video, large photo libraries or files used on iPhone Duo's larger display, buy a cable that explicitly lists USB 3 and 10Gb/s support. For charging alone, choose a sound USB-C cable rated for at least 60W.

For iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max, Apple's quickest published wired result requires a 60W-capable or higher USB-C adapter with Adjustable Voltage Supply, commonly shortened to AVS. For iPhone Duo, Apple specifies a 60W-capable or higher adapter but does not list AVS as a requirement on its technical specifications page. With a USB-C cable, Apple reports up to 50% in around 15 minutes for the Pro models and around 20 minutes for Duo. This does not mean any model continuously draws 60W or that Apple has declared a fixed 60W peak input; 60W is the stated adapter capability used to reach those results.
A compliant 20W or 30W USB-C Power Delivery charger can still charge the phone safely. It simply may not reproduce the 15-minute result. These adapters remain sensible for overnight charging, light desk use or reusing equipment you already own.
A suitable 60W or 65W adapter is the practical choice when maximum speed matters. A compliant 100W USB-C charger is also safe because the iPhone negotiates the power it accepts. When choosing a multiport RORRY charger, check its per-port output and whether plugging in another device reduces the USB-C port below the level you need.
MagSafe and Qi2 reach up to 25W on iPhone 18 Pro, Pro Max and iPhone Duo. With a compatible MagSafe Charger and a 35W or higher adapter, Apple reports about 50% in 30 minutes for every model. This gives Duo buyers the same published wireless charging time as the Pro models despite its foldable design and dual built-in batteries.
Wireless charging is convenient on a desk or bedside table, while USB-C is the better choice when time and efficiency matter most. The practical differences between MagSafe and USB-C charging include speed, heat, alignment and whether you want to keep using the phone while it charges.
An older MagSafe or Qi charger may still work, but its own limit can prevent the phone from reaching 25W. A thick non-magnetic case, poor alignment or high temperature can also slow wireless charging.
Most good USB-C equipment from recent iPhones remains useful. Replace it only when its condition, output or protocol no longer fits your needs.
Replace a cable if the connector is loose, charging repeatedly disconnects, insulation is split or exposed, or the plug becomes unusually hot. Clear standards and safety information matter more than an exaggerated wattage claim.
Fast charging naturally creates some warmth, especially when the battery is low and the phone is accepting more power. Charging may slow if the phone becomes hot, if you play demanding games or record video while plugged in, or if the room itself is warm. Place the phone on a firm, ventilated surface and remove an unusually insulating case if heat builds up. Slower charging near full capacity is also normal because the phone reduces power to manage temperature and battery wear. A more powerful adapter cannot prevent this protective behavior, and repeatedly reconnecting the cable will not make the final part of the charge faster.
